9th Class Physics Chapter Wise Test Papers (PDF Download) - Punjab Board 2025
Physics is widely considered the "make or break" subject for Science Group students in Matriculation. Unlike Biology or Chemistry, Physics in the 9th Class under the Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) requires a unique combination of conceptual understanding, mathematical derivation, and numerical problem-solving.
Many students memorize definitions but fail to apply formulas correctly in numericals, which causes them to lose marks in the objective and subjective sections. To help you overcome this hurdle, we have compiled a complete Chapter-Wise Test Series. These papers are strictly aligned with the 2025 SLO-Based (Student Learning Outcomes) policy introduced by the Federal and Punjab Boards.
Why Practice Chapter-Wise Tests?
Jumping directly into full-book papers can be overwhelming. Breaking your preparation down by chapter helps in the following ways:
- Target Weak Areas: You can specifically focus on difficult chapters like Chapter 2 (Kinematics) or Chapter 6 (Work and Energy) without distraction.
- Understand Question Variety: Our tests include "Conceptual Questions" (Why/How) which are now becoming more common than simple "Define" questions.
- Time Management Strategy: Each test is designed to be solved in 40 minutes. Practicing this builds the speed you need for the final 3-hour Board Exam.
Board Exam Strategy: The Pairing Scheme
Smart study is better than hard study. Before downloading the tests, you should know which chapters are most important for Long Questions (Subjective Part II). Based on past trends and the 2025 outlook:
- Pair 1: Chapter 2 (Kinematics) + Chapter 3 (Dynamics). (High Priority)
- Pair 2: Chapter 4 (Turning Effect) + Chapter 6 (Work & Energy). (Numerical heavy)
- Pair 3: Chapter 7 (Properties of Matter) + Chapter 8 (Thermal Properties).
Tip: Most students skip the numericals in Chapter 8 because they are lengthy, but they are very high-scoring if practiced well.
Syllabus Breakdown of This PDF Series
This PDF contains individual tests for all 9 units of the Physics textbook. Here is what each test focuses on:
| Chapter | Key Topics Covered |
|---|---|
| Unit 1 | Physical Quantities, Prefixes, Vernier Callipers & Screw Gauge errors. |
| Unit 2 | Types of Motion, Speed-Time Graphs, and Derivation of 3 Equations of Motion. |
| Unit 3 | Newton's Laws, Momentum, Friction, and Centripetal Force. |
| Unit 4 | Resolution of Forces, Torque, Center of Mass vs Center of Gravity. |
| Unit 5 | Law of Gravitation, Artificial Satellites, Value of 'g' with altitude. |
| Unit 6 | K.E vs P.E, Efficiency, Power, and Renewable Energy Sources. |
| Unit 7 | Pascal's Law, Archimedes Principle, Young's Modulus. |
| Unit 8 | Latent Heat of Fusion/Vaporization, Thermal Expansion. |
| Unit 9 | Conduction, Convection, Radiation, Green House Effect. |
Sample "SLO-Based" Questions
To give you an idea of the difficulty level, here are a few conceptual questions included in these papers:
- Unit 2: A car travels at constant speed in a circle. Is it accelerating? Explain why.
- Unit 4: Why is the door handle fixed at the outer edge of the door? (Torque application).
- Unit 7: Why does a steel ship float while a small steel ball sinks?

3 Golden Rules for Attempting the Physics Paper
Having the test paper is one thing, but attempting it correctly is another. To score 60/60, follow these rules:
- The Diagram Rule: In Physics, a diagram is worth marks. Even if the question doesn't ask for it, draw a small figure (e.g., a simple pulley, a ray diagram, or a vector) to support your answer. This impresses the examiner.
- Numerical Format: Never just write the calculation. Use the standard format:
Given Data -> To Find -> Formula -> Calculation -> Result with S.I Unit.
Missing the S.I. unit (like 'Ns' for Momentum) will cost you 1 mark. - Bubble Sheet Care: For the objective section, ensure you fill the bubbles completely. The optical mark reader (OMR) will not detect partially filled circles.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes. The syllabus is common for all 9 boards including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and DG Khan.
