Download Chemistry-9 Smart Syllabus (ALP) & Model Paper (2025-26)
Chemistry in 9th Class often feels like a sudden jump in difficulty because of the introduction of Valency, Electronic Configuration, and the Mole Concept. To help students navigate these complex topics, the Punjab Textbook Board has released the Smart Syllabus (ALP) and Model Paper for the 2026 session.
At EDUBoost, we have analyzed this official document to help you study smarter, not harder. Below, you will find the pairing scheme analysis, important numerical chapters, and the direct download link.
What is New in the 2025-26 Syllabus?
This year, the board is focusing on Conceptual Learning (SLOs). This means:
- No Rote Learning: Definitions alone won't get you full marks. You must understand the "Why" (e.g., Why does Ionization Energy decrease down the group?).
- Practical Based Questions: Questions related to "Test for Gases" or "Color of Salts" may appear in the short questions section.
Chemistry Paper Pattern & Pairing Scheme 2026
The Subjective Part (Long Questions) is where most students lose marks. Based on the Model Paper, here is the expected pairing for the 18 Marks Long Section (Attempt 2 out of 3):
| Question No. | Chapter Combination | Focus Topic |
|---|---|---|
| Q5 | Chapter 1 (Fundamentals) + Chapter 2 (Structure of Atoms) | Empirical Formula / Rutherford Model |
| Q6 | Chapter 4 (Bonding) + Chapter 5 (States of Matter) | Covalent Bond / Boyle's Law |
| Q7 | Chapter 6 (Solutions) + Chapter 7 (Electrochemistry) | Solubility / Galvanic Cell |
⚠️ Important: Don't Ignore Numericals!
Many students skip the numerical problems thinking they are difficult. However, they are the easiest way to score full marks in Short Questions. According to the ALP, focus on these two chapters:
- Chapter 1 (Fundamentals): Mole-Mass calculations and Avogadro's Number.
- Chapter 6 (Solutions): Molarity formula calculations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
No. For Grade 9, you are not provided with a Periodic Table. You must memorize the Atomic Numbers and Masses of the first 20 elements.
Practicals are usually conducted after the 10th Class theory exams. However, you must maintain your Practical Notebook throughout the 9th Class.
