Download English-9 Smart Syllabus (ALP) & Model Paper (2025-26)
English in 9th Class is often scored high, but it requires a strategic approach. Unlike Science subjects, English has a fixed pattern for Summaries, Comprehension, and Translation. To ensure you don't waste time on irrelevant topics, the Punjab Education Authority has released the updated Smart Syllabus and Model Paper.
At EDUBoost, we break down the 75 Marks paper so you know exactly where to focus. Below you will find the syllabus for Grammar, important Letters, and the official PDF download.
What to Focus On? (Important Syllabus)
According to the Model Paper, rote learning is not enough. You must prepare:
- Summaries (5 Marks): Only two poems are included: "Daffodils" and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening."
- Grammar (Objectve): Focus on Correct Form of Verb (Tenses) and Spelling Corrections.
- Translation: Chapters 1, 2, 4, 6, and 9 are "High Priority" for translation into Urdu.
English Paper Pattern & Marks Distribution 2026
The paper is divided into Objective (19 Marks) and Subjective (56 Marks). Here is the breakdown:

Teacher's Advice: Letter or Story?
In Question 6, you have a choice between writing a Letter, Story, or Dialogue.
Recommendation: Always attempt the Letter. It has a fixed pattern (Header/Footer) which guarantees you 2-3 marks even if the body text is average. Stories often lose marks due to grammatical errors in past tense.
